Thank you to everyone for all of their hard work at the Jog-a-Long!

The PTA is excited that the new school spirit t-shirts were so well received by students and staff.  By providing t-shirts, we are hoping to inject a sense of belonging and school pride. Please encourage the children to wear their new t-shirt to all school-wide events to celebrate being a part of Pine Grove School!

Due to high demand for the new t-shirt, PTA is placing a re-order for anyone who wishes to purchase a PGS t-shirt at a cost $12 each.  If you wish to order a shirt, please fill out the attached form and submit it to school with payment by FRIDAY MAY 22nd.

Voice your concerns to your Massachusetts State Senator and Representative

Dear Pine Grove Parents,

The Pine Grove PTA takes very seriously it's responsibility to inform members of issues that have a direct effect on Pine Grove School.  We're sure everyone is aware of the current budget crisis that the Triton Regional School District is facing.  We encourage you to contact Massachusetts State Senator, Bruce Tarr and Massachusetts State Representative, Brad Hill asking for their assistance/influence with this funding crisis on behalf of Triton.

Below are links to both of their website contact pages, you can copy and paste the message below into the form provided and submit it electronically. You are welcome to write your own message.

Our hope is that if enough parents contact Senator Tarr and State Representative Hill that action will be taken on our behalf.

Thank you for your help.

Message

As a parent/guardian/ family member of a student attending a school in the Triton Regional School District I am contacting you to ask you to use your influence to intervene in the upcoming FY16 budget deliberations on behalf of our children. The Governor’s budget has the effect of reducing Triton’s revenue by almost $500,000. Planned cuts in reimbursements for regional transportation, and charter and special education tuitions (the Circuit Breaker), together with the ending of the Kindergarten grant and a mere $20/student increase in Chapter 70 aid has contributed to significant reductions in educator personnel (13.5), opportunities for essential educator professional development, general and after school bus runs, and increased fees.

There are powerful connections between a quality education system, the life chances of individuals, the economic well being of the community, and the functioning of an active and informed democracy.

I ask you to support our schools in the upcoming budget deliberations.

PTA Meeting Tuesday, February 10th at 7:30 PM in the 6th Grade Conference Room

The February PTA meeting will start at 7:30 on Tuesday night instead of its regular 7:00 start.
The auction planning meeting will be held ahead of PTA from 6:30 to 7:30.
Please feel free to attend both meetings.
We still need help with a final push for auction donations.
A detailed list of calls to be made has been compiled and we just need some fresh faces to help make some calls or visit some local businesses for donations.  Maybe you frequent one of the businesses we would like to approach?

    Auction Volunteers Needed

The next planning meeting for the Spring Auction will be held directly following the PTA meeting this Tuesday, 1/13, at 7:00 p.m. in the 6th grade conference room at Pine Grove.

It is time to start a big push for donations of auction items.  We are need of people to help contact local and surrounding businesses for donations to make this event the most successful it can be.  Team up with a friend to work on one of the remaining auction categories.  The more people that help the less work it is for everyone and the greater the potential for raising the most money for Pine Grove School.

There are other areas to help in as well:  decorations, set-up, clean-up, etc.

Maybe you have something you can contribute?  Join together with neighbors and donate a purchased item or theme basket to be auctioned off?

Attend the meeting!  There is something for everyone to do!
